FORT SMITH NHS

Our 28th Park in our 14th State was Fort Smith National Historic Site in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Shaped by a diverse cast of colorful characters---soldiers, Indians, outlaws, and lawman---Fort Smith NHS evokes 80 years of turbulent history on the western frontier.

For many years Fort Smith was the only law for all lands west.

This was an interesting and educational park.  It covered 80 years of our history.  A lot happened in Fort Smith in those 80 years and they do a good job of explaining it.
